O Cafe Experience

Before the beginning of Ramadan, I dropped a visit to O Cafe located in Sha’ab Seaside (Behind Champions men) to try their menu and products. The people of Oishiii Restaurant created a small cafe in the heart of Kuwait where it’s always busy with residence, gymers and more. They thought of giving these people a choice of healthy food and drinks.

Their products are checked everyday regarding its expiry dates and changed accordingly. We tried Matcha Frappaccino, Matcha Latte, Cappuccino, Croissant and 2 other sandwiches which I ย can’t remember. Everything was great, loved the cozy cafe with its beautiful atmosphere and I think it will be copier in winter or when the weather starts to change.

BRW Coffee Experience-360 Mall

A couple of weeks ago I wanted to try the newly opened coffee shop which is part of Open Flame Kitchen restaurant called BRW Coffee.

We went there on Friday afternoon around 5pm and as expected it was crowded but what wasn’t expected is that the staffย told us that we have to wait 3 hours for a table just to drink coffee! I was really astonished. I told them it’s just coffee and we want to sit outside not inside the restaurant. They told us the tables outside are part of the restaurant! As if I didn’t know that!!!! Why haven’t they separated the coffee shop from the restaurant?!

Anyways, we left then came back on a weekday which was Monday I believe and they also told me I have to wait 30 minutes until a table is available, I said fine, I can do window shopping in 30 minutes.

I came back and they called me and gave me a table outside the restaurant. I ordered Cortado coffee and Caramel Donuts. The order arrived immediately, it didn’t take time to prepare it. Thank god, the busyness of the place didn’t affect the coffee shop. Then I ordered the Iced Cube Latte.

All in all, I loved the experience, loved the kinds of coffee I tried, loved the service, the atmosphere and the prices were very reasonable. But I wouldn’t come back to enjoy coffee on a table because it will take a lot of time to be seated. I’d go back to have coffee to go.

Vol.1 Coffee Experience

On my trip to Kuwait City to try the various coffee house that opened there, I stopped at Vol.1 Coffee House where I tried their best seller Cereal Latte. Got to admit that it was really good and fills your tummy. A healthy choice for breakfast. Really loved it.

Then on another visit, I tried plain Americano and it was OH AM GEE. The aroma was mind-blowing and the taste was strong and vivid.

The cafe itself isn’t that big from the inside but it has an outdoor seating. Loved the seatings inside, simple yet elegant. It gets really crowded on weekdays around 9 am. I believe employees get down there to get their share of caffeine from them.

I’m going there for a 3rd visit to try other cups soon.

Caffeine Experience-Somu Kuwait

Everybody has or went to Somu in Souq Almubarikiya. Which is a new yard filled with chic and elegant cafes and restaurants not to mention small shops where you can enjoy shopping in them after finishing your meal or coffee.

I’ve tried Brothers Burger before so many times and I was always intrigues by the blue coffee shop next to it but I’m always full and can’t put a drip of coffee in my belly.

Last week, my friend and I decided to enjoy coffee and try some newly opened coffee shops in Sharq, which I’ll write about later on.

The winner was Caffeine for it served the best and strongest coffee ever. Now, I can’t really compare it to the others because we tried several kinds of coffee, but this one was the best from presentation, to taste, to customer care and quality.

We chose the Syphon coffee and it took more than 10 minutes to prepare. We waited in the seatings outdoors enjoying the lovely weather. And then came the best cup of coffee ever. Black as the night, strong as a warrior.

I loved it โค

Drawing on Coffee at Costa CoffeeShop

Yesterday, I attended Costa Coffee’s fun event where they hosted a Japanese artist who came all the way from Japan to Kuwait just to entertain Costa’s customers. Kohei Matsumo is a famous artist in Japan who is known by drawing on coffee.

I arrived a little bit late and it was crowded, but the sweet Dalal Alsaeed managed to get my picture drawn on my coffee, I told her to ask him to draw an owl on my coffee and voila ๐Ÿ™‚ as you can see in the pictures, my cute lil owl ๐Ÿ˜€

Kohei Matsumo will be at Proud To Be Kuwaiti village, if you want him to draw on your coffee, get your sketch ready and head to the village ๐Ÿ™‚

The Best Americano Ever

Months ago, exactly in Ramadan after futoor, my husband and I went to Cheesecake Factory to enjoy a cup of coffee and one of their delicious huge cheesecakes. Husband ordered Americano and I got me cappuccino and a red velvet to be shared which we couldn’t finish it all.

I’m writing about the huge americano coffee that arrived to our table. We both looked shocked because we have never seen such a huge coffee cup or in this case i can say GLASS.

Husband said the coffee was superb and he insisted that I try it. Yes it was so good and delicious. Very strong indeed. And we also couldn’t finish it all.

Guess what happened to us on that day? We drank it around 8pm. And we stayed awake til next morning. We couldn’t sleep AT ALL. Our eyes were wide open til 11 am and it was Ramadan so we became very cranky and swore that we’ll never drink it again that late only if we didn’t have anything to do the next day.

If you want a great very strong coffee, get the Cheesecake Factory Americano ๐Ÿ˜›

The red velvet cheesecake was very delicious but very heavy at the same time. 3 persons can share ๐Ÿ™‚

Delicious Neqsa from @DallahKuwait

Yesterday, a guy rang our house bell and I happened to open the door and find a huge Dallah bag filled with delicious goodies ๐Ÿ™‚ This wasn’t the 1st time I try Dallah’s sweets. ย Readย my previous post. So I had a clear idea of what I was expecting.

Arabic Coffee+Sokareya Cups+Alba

That what was inside the bag. I’ve tried their Arabic Coffee before and it was amazing, and still is. Now, the Sokareya Cups are new and let me tell you about them, they are light, moist, and heavenly delicious (as I say). You can eat 2 or 3 pieces after one another without feeling full at all. Loved them, and highly recommended.

Let’s talk about the Alba, heard alot about it from last year (as a kuwaiti dish) but never dared to try it because I’m not a fan of such sweet. But when I smelled Dallah’s Alba, I had to try it, the aroma was killing me. And it was super delicious ย ๐Ÿ™‚ the quantity was very good to share it with 3 or 4 persons. Perfect for Zawara or gathering.

Thank you Dallah and wish you all the best ๐Ÿ™‚

Dolce Gusto New Flavor-Marrakech Tea

Dolce Gusto coffee machine has a special place in my heart. I use it everyday more than 3 or 4 times. It’s an addictive machine with all the beautiful flavors it offers, not all available in town, we buy them from UK ๐Ÿ™‚

A couple of days ago, I’ve received a beautiful customized box with a new flavor. Marrakach tea, a new flavor that has arrived to town. It’s a combination of green tea, mint and sugar. To be honest, I hate having my drinks with sugar but I believe this is supposed to be with sugar hence all other flavors come without sugar.

The taste, very strong and nice, can’t imagine the taste without sugar but it was good. My husband loved it alot, he’s having 2 cups per day after Iftar now. I’d rather drink it in winter to keep me warm so I’m saving me few capsules before they run out (thanks to husband).

Now, I’d like to say a couple of things:

1- Why we don’t have the other flavors that are being sold in the UK and other places?

2- The box costs around KD 1.800/- in UK and in here it costs KD 2.400/-. Why is that? Note that in UK they have taxes and we don’t.

Thank you Nescafe Arabia for the new flavor and hope you’ll be providing more flavors for the ME.

Lavicka Cafe-Ramadan Atmosphere

Last week, I passed by Lavicka Cae located in Burj Jassim where I was greeted by the owner Aicha. She explained to me how she arranged everything for this Ramadan and took care of designing the tent by herself. Also what’s new on the menu is from her mother’s recipes. Traditional Kuwaiti Desserts (pictures below).

Everything was so beautiful and relaxing. The cafe makes you feel as you’re sitting in your own garden. You have to pass by and try their Raspberry Cheesecake, veerrrrrrry delicious and moist.

Best of luck Aisha.

Starbucks Marina Re-Opened

I can’t recall when the place closed down for renovation. I’m not a Marina fan at all but the new design of Starbucks is really stunning. It has the atmosphere of the Arabian Gulf & Kuwait as you can see in the below pictures.

I loved Kuwait’s map filled with coffee cups & you can see the Arabic coffee dallah in the decoration of the new set. Just lovely.

They’re also having a Jazz Night every Wednesday, a Kuwaiti band called Stylus formed by 3 guys play in the cafe. Their playing was amazing, make you wanna sway & move from place to place. Baby Jana enjoyed the music alot ๐Ÿ˜›

Thank you Imad & John for the lovely night.

Soft Opening Of Lavicka Cafe

Pronounced; LaviCHka

A lovely phone call came from a very sweet lady to attend the soft opening of Lavicka cafe located in Burj Jassim-M Floor infront of f2oDesigns exactly. This soft opening was only for friends & family.

The owner of the place was really sweet & nice, the way she talks to people is really beautiful. She introduced me to her cafe which will open this Sunday from 7am til 10pm everyday.

The place is very relaxing, filled with flowers, plants, & trees to make you feel as if you’re sitting in a garden & enjoying your morning coffee or lunch break. It’s located in the city, so i guess people working in private sector will enjoy the place to take their minds of work, sip coffee & relax.

The menu was created by the great chef Hanoof AlBalhan, she was available there at the soft opening but to bad she was busy with people, couldn’t take a photo of her. I tried the pineapple salad, mini chicken sandwich, blueberry cheesecake & their vanilla latte. All were very delicious & tasty, specially the cheesecake & the latte, loved them.

You have to check the place, I’m telling you, you’re gonna love the atmosphere specially in the morning ๐Ÿ™‚
