A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to dine at Zwarah restaurant located in Souk area in The Avenues. I’ve tried eating in it several times but every time we go, it’s full house.
We chose Friday afternoon and I took my daddy with me this time because he’s a traditional man and enjoys Kuwaiti food. I thought he’s going to enjoy this and he did. He’s still talking about the place.
We chose to be seated outdoors because it’s brighter and better for photography, not to mention Juju wanted to go to the fountain every now and then so I was able to keep an eye on her.
We started with Fatoush Salad and the main dishes started coming after a while. We ordered Maraq Bamya (Okra Stew) which comes with plain white rice, Murabyan (Shrimps with rice), Saffron rice & one hell of a Subaiti Fish. The fish came really big and the stuffing was beyond delicious. We all loved it and Dad enjoyed to the max. The Murabyan was really good and the Bamya Maraq was also great. We also ordered Chicken Laban Suwaykhat (grilled) which was beyond delicious. A must try.
For desserts we ordered the Dates Baqlawa (amazing) and the Date Caramel Cake with Ice cream, accompanies with Arabic Coffee.
