Everything started just like that without any introductions whatsoever. I was enjoying my dinner with my husband last Tuesday but when I reached home I started screaming and couldn’t breath at all. The pain was so horrible i can’t even describe it. It’s like a circle, from under my chest til my back. You can’t breath or even pronounce a single letter. After like 20 minutes I threw up and the pain went away after 10 minutes. I couldn’t believe it went away. We were on our away to Dar Alsehfa hospital which I can say is more than horrible. It’s the worst hospital ever, worse than Mubarak public hospital. Told them to give me pain killers because there were no beds available and I would have waited forever to be examined. I went back home, relaxed and slept.
Next day, I ate white rice with yogurt only because I was afraid the pain will hit me again. At night I became very hungry so I thought why not eat a lil bit of bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar?! Damn I was really stupid. The same horrible pain hit me again but this time worse. I kept on screaming in the middle of the street, it was soooo horrible I don’t wanna remember it at all. This time we went to Alsalam Hospital, I was admitted immediately and examined. They did an ultrasound and it turned out that I had tiny shiny stones in my gall bladder. I wasn’t surprised at all, it’s a common case in our family histroy. My mother, cousin, aunt, grandmother and uncle all of them had it and removed it long time ago. This time, it was my turn.
Because of the horrible pain that hit me out of no where and because I couldn’t handle it and don’t wanna go through it again. I booked an appointment with Dr. Tareq AbdulAziz to have a Cholecystectomy on Saturday morning. Good thing I have medical insurance which covered it all.
The operation was an easy one by doing laparoscopic surgery. It took only 30 minutes and everything was done perfectly. I went through surgery around 10:30 am and woke up around 12:30 pm. The pain wasn’t that horrible, not as when I had my c-section. The Dr. came to visit me around 5pm and he confirmed that everything went well, and that my gall bladder was really swollen like a ballon and has been blocked by one of the stones. Now I have to follow a certain diet so I won’t get tired and then get back to my normal life but with less oily food.
I’m feeling better now and thank you all for your kind and sweet words on instagram 🙂 Just incase you’re feeling curious and want to know about the procedure, watch the video below 😉
