Pottery Factory-Cappadoccia

1

Our Turkish guide suggested that we pass by this Pottery factory (Guray Ceramic House). It’s a family business that has been transferred from generation to generation & the business is still going strong. The factory is based inside a cave, I felt like I was suffocating when I went inside, I didn’t want to continue but I got intrigued & I wanted to see what’s inside.

One of the family members who’s taking care of their business now gave us a tour inside the factory, from where they get the clays, how they mix it with powder & water, what they do next, how they draw on them & how they make the final touches. It was exciting to see how people worked inside that cave. It’s a very closed place, I dunno how they can handle working there everyday but it seems that they enjoy it

Enjoy the pix 😀

  1. hello

Do you remember how much was one decoration piece, the round plate one?

    • I didn’t check the prices of the plates, but the mug was around 7kd, so maybe the plates around 30kd or so!
