Aya Sofia-SultanAhmet

1

Aya Sofia is one of the amazing wonderful places in Turkey, full of great history.

It was first an Orthodox Church, later turned to a Catholic one, after that it became a mosque, then it closed for 4 years, after that it became a museum & opened to the public in 1935.

You can see that the Christian symbols are still there. The drawings remained as they are, & Islamic symbols were added later on.

I love this place, it’s my second visit. Still gives me goosebumps. Before, it was just a museum, now it’s a museum that has 2 cafes & a souvenir shop. Ticket costs 25 Liras per person.

It’s a must visit place … enjoy the pix 🙂
