I remember when I applied for a job in the government sector & was accepted in the Ministry of Education as an English teacher back in January, one of the ladies working there informed & assured me that I’ll start working at the beginning of next year (Educational year) so that’s next September. I asked her so many times & she kept saying “forget about working now, you’ll start in September”. So I actually prepared myself mentally & physically for September.

When Maya (my help) told me that she wants to travel before Ramadan & before i start working, I gave her the green light & booked her a flight to her home in the middle of April. i swear after 1 week from her departure, the Ministry of Education calls me to inform me that I need to collect my papers to start the medical tests & everything to start working NOW.

I was speechless. What the ****? Haven’t you told me that I won’t start now? This ministry is really ….. (you choose the word). They made my life like hell. People there don’t do their tasks at all. The paper that you can finish n 3 hours, they tell you to come & collect it after 3 days. WHYYYYYY?

Anyways, it was really awful finishing my papers & not to mention starting my job.

My 1st day was on the 8th of May 2013. I went to the school I was assigned to & met my colleagues. I gotta say after more than 2 weeks now working as a teacher, everything looks good & better than before. Now, you only get 2 classes (that’s 2 periods everyday except the doubles so sometimes you get 3 periods). Which is soo good and not that exhausting. The books have changed (from 2007). The way of teaching & correcting exams have changed. Now you don’t stay that long correcting final exams bla bla bla.

I got off the topic How did I become an IronMom?! Well, I wake up at 6am, change my clothes, get Juju’s things, drop her at my grandma’s house, go to work, go back to grandma’s house & then back home. Either my lunch is already cooked or I have to cook at the spot, wash the dishes, put Juju to sleep, and then go to bed to get a nap or surf the net (it makes me relaxed). Then I either attend an event or go & continue with the house chores, you name it, washing clothes, toilette, ironing, cleaning the tables & not to mention taking care of Juju every now & then who wants more attention now because she’s older & she wants to play all the time. Around 9pm I feel like I have no more energy left but then I have to choose my clothes for tomorrow, iron them & then prepare my breakfast for work before I go to bed. Around 11pm I take a shower & then sleep like a dead person.

That’s what I do mostly everyday without help. Sometime’s my dad’s house help comes & do some chores because I feel exhausted & can’t move from my place/bed.

I honestly feel very tired & exhausted. Being a teacher is very tiring & energy consuming. Even when you don’t do that much at work, still I go back home feeling like a zombie.

Maya will be coming home soon & I’ll be more relaxed nshallah. I’m having dreams of her coming back home & me crying from happiness & hugging her *sniff* I think that will happen for real.

I thought of mixing & matching clothes with jewelries, bags & shoes & creating an outfit for ever everyday. I will be posting an outfit everyday on instagram & on the blog.

She’s been selling mini bags that are copy paste of some known brands like Chanel, Hermes, Prada, LV & so on. I wasn’t thinking of getting one for Juju as she’s very young right now to carry a mini bag but when I saw the Hermes Birkin mini bag I just couldn’t resist. It also comes in the color that I want for her in eid, because it matches her outfit. I was picturing her carrying the bag in her hands, she’d look so cute in it,,,my little angle

I gotta say it’s a little bit overpriced for a mini bag & specially for a baby (KD 20/-) but you know she’s my first joy & I gotta spoil her a bit before she grows up & starts understanding. Beside, the quality of the bag is really good.

I was invited to the newly opened spa inside Harvey Nichols Eden Salon & Spa to visit the place & try one of their treatments. I’ve heard alot about the salon before, everybody recommended it but I didn’t make time to try it.

I went yesterday afternoon to try their pedicure & manicure. The receptionist knew me before introducing myself, of course the timing of my appointment sold me out

There was some food from Veranda cafe & fresh juices … delicious of course. Imagine having a day of relaxation while munching on these yummies ,,, what a day it was.

The treatment was very refreshing & relaxing for my feet & hands after a long day at work and a very exhausting week. The service was really good & the staff were very friendly & nice.

I’ve asked about their prices, they are somehow reasonable. I’d pay KD 16/- to enjoy a full hour of relaxation & joy.

I received an invitation to attend the 1st bloggers’ event at the newly opened IT place in Kuwait Jumeirah Messila Beach Hotel.

I arrived on time along with my other mates & we were welcomed by the staff of the hotel. We were seated at the Royal Suite, there are only 2 royal suits in the hotel only & this is the 1st time the room opens its doors to the public. Because it was hot & humid, I had a watermelon juice which was very refreshing & yummy.

The tour started from the Royal Suite going to The Reef Hall & then passing by other halls & meeting rooms until we reached Badriya Ballroom which is the largest one in Kuwait.

After that they gave us a tour around the restaurants of the hotel. Too bad not all of them are open. Only, Pepper, Tea Lounge, Arabesque and another one which I’ve forgotten.

Then we moved to the hotel rooms, we couldn’t see the ones with the private swimming pools because they’re fully booked until 2014.

At the end, we went outside to see the beautifully designed garden & pools. Heavenly beautiful & i think in the morning it will be more & more beautiful & stunning. The place has a huge swimming pool, Jacuzzi, a swimming pool for the children & a private beach.

One thing I didn’t like about the hotel is the furniture. Some parts of the hotel had furniture that looked ancient. I know it’s new but the design was old. Also there was something wrong with the ac in most of the hotel, hope they fix it asap.

All in all, i loved exploring the hotel & l think I will be eating at Pepper restaurant soon.

Happy 10th Anniversary

Ever since I’ve started working, I had trouble sleeping. I got used to sleeping late at night & waking up around 10 or 11 am. So it was very difficult getting myself to sleep early. I kept on staying late at night til 2am & waking up around 6am. Even when I come back home around 1:30 pm exhausted, I don’t get my afternoon nap because I wanna sleep early. It didn’t work at all.

I received an email from the distributors of  Dream Water in Kuwait to try the product. I so wanted to try it because my body started to get very tired from the lack of sleep. I received 2 bottles the very next day & I tried it immediately.

I drank the first bottle around 9pm which was very wrong. I took it very early & Juju wasn’t even in the mood to sleep. I can’t recall when the place closed down for renovation. I’m not a Marina fan at all but the new design of Starbucks is really stunning. It has the atmosphere of the Arabian Gulf & Kuwait as you can see in the below pictures.

I loved Kuwait’s map filled with coffee cups & you can see the Arabic coffee dallah in the decoration of the new set. Just lovely.

They’re also having a Jazz Night every Wednesday, a Kuwaiti band called Stylus formed by 3 guys play in the cafe. Their playing was amazing, make you wanna sway & move from place to place. Baby Jana enjoyed the music alot

Yesterday, my colleagues informed me they will be celebrating one of our teacher;s birthday. I didn’t have time to think from where to get delicious cupcakes but then i remembered an account on instagram called @NatBakesWithLove so I called the lady early in the morning around 9am & told them I want it tonight (Wednesday night). They were delivered on time.

Now, i haven’t tried her cupcakes before but I thought of giving them a try. I was worried they won’t turn out that good. Wrong I was. They turned out to be absolutely delicious & yummy, moist & oh am gee Loved her work & neatness. Her prices are more than reasonable. KD 9/- for the dozen & KD 1/- for the delivery. Total KD 10/-

I’ve received a box filled with mini cookies stuffed with yummy & delicious chocolate *om nom nom*

The box as you see has lots of white & dark cookies both taste the same (almost) and both have the same filling. They are very delicious but a lil bit heavy. Good for gatherings or afternoon coffee or even for work.
