Book Review: The Tiger’s Wife
This is a very new book which was published last March, I loved the title, & the synopsis BUT don’t let looks deceive you. The book consists of 13 chapters, and it’s all narration, there was hardly any conversation which i hate alot. Long narration frustrates me, I love to read conversations more, but this book was all about narration. It starts boring, really boring that I thought I won’t be able to finish this book but I pushed myself til I reached chapter 7 & things started getting interesting.
It’s about Natalia’s Grandfather’s death which leads her to remember the old stories he told her of their small village about the tiger who escaped from the zoo, befriended a deaf-mute Muslim girl who’s married to a Christian who beats her every day. The girl is later called the devil for her husband has disappeared & the villagers think that she’s now the wife of tiger. Oh yeah, the girl is pregnant at the time of her husband’s disappearance. Her grandfather becomes a dear friend to the girl & tries to help her.
The stories are superstitious and beyond reason, the villagers believed in, which I liked the most. But Tea has to learn how to make her novels more interesting. And I didn’t like the ending at all . . . what is it supposed to be?!
Burger Prices O_O
I should have posted about this subject long time ago!
I’m really frustrated from the burger . . . I repeat BURGER prices in the country. They’re unreasonable at all! 1 single burger minus fries & soft drink costs around KD 3 up to KD 5 or 6! Is this acceptable?! It’s a burger, the whole ingredient wouldn’t exceed KD1 Max & you sell it for KD4?! Why y3ni?!
It’s because we have the money, we don’t complain or literary feel how expensive it is. We wouldn’t mind spending money on food, we wouldn’t mind spending more than KD 5 on a burger meal, but think about it, is it really worth it?! No it’s NOT!
The only burger that I’ve found its price reasonable when looking at other prices, is Elevation Burger which costs around KD 2.250 & it’s somehow acceptable because it’s organic . . . But what about the other burger places?! What’s your excuse?! Do you buy your lettuce from Honolulu or your tomato from Sin Maarten (do they even have them in there?!)!
I’m not a cheap person, I’d finish my salary before the end of the month just because of restaurants & cafes . . . but someone has to speak about this and take action! I know I can’t do anything but talk, but what I’m gonna do boycott (or rather not buy) burgers that costs more than KD 2.500/-
Mada’s Awful Internet Connection & Customer Service
A couple of months ago, we heard about Mada internet connection & because the landlord is an old guy, giving us a hard time and doesn’t wanna give us a phone line, so we decided to try this wireless service.
We headed to Almuhalab and talked to the sales guy who gave us a background about the connection, download limit, price bla bla bla! We asked about the coverage in our area (Mishref Block 6). Mada sales informed us that it’s one of the best areas in Kuwait & that we will get a speed up tp 6mp & and no less than 2mp . . . that seemed as an awesome internet connection, so we took it.
Guess what?! Mada sales lied to us, the higher we got was 1.5mp (in good days) and all the time we get 512 kb O_O! We talked to them on phone & complained zillions of times but no one seems to know what’s the issue with our coverage . . . people on phone don’t understand a thing about something called internet connection! They say we’ve sent a complain to the management & we’ll get back to you . . . you know what they do?! The guy we spoke on the phone calls us the next day “I’m just calling to inform you that I’m following up with you”!!!!!! Please, don’t insult my intelligence, following up with me on what exactly?! Try and figure out a solution for the problem that you don’t know how to solve!
Husband & I are really frustrated from Mada internet connection & their customer service. One month left for this service to end and we’re going for another company!

Luna Restaurant-Missoni Hotel Kuwait
Yesterday I was invited by the lovely Miss Nikki the manager of Luna restaurant to attend the pre opening and taste some of the dishes displayed on their menu. My husband & I arrived today where we’ve been greeted warmly by the receptionist and showed us to our table. Later on, Nikki came & greeted us. She gave us a background about the restaurant and she mentioned that it is a Mediterranean restaurant that has a variety of dishes & it does.
So we picked our dishes (check pix) and I went to take pictures of the place. The staff was very polite, sweet, super friendly & very efficient (hope it will stay the same *never ever change). The atmosphere of the place was very cozy and warm. The seats were comfy & the tables are very suitable for eating. The complimentary food’s quantity was more than enough.
Now, let me take in a tour inside the restaurant along with the dishes we’ve ordered, shall we
seating area
another section
isn’t it elegant and fashionable?
privacy is available
the bar
part of the privacy, you can enjoy your email with your table area covered with a thread curtain
complimentary sweet penuts
complimentary potato chips
Romesco sauce, delicious
complimentary bread
seafood sauce: delicious and very light to start your meal with it.
mini bread topped with fish: Oh La La La
Caramelized Chicken Livers: *faint* I salut the chef for this dish. It was very very very soft & light, I couldn’t feel it going inside my tummy. In many restaurants, the chicken liver turns out to be a little bit chewy but oh no, not this dish.
Lamb Pies: It was very ordinary but the creamy cheesy topping was to die for.
Lobster Salad: very lovely yet very very spicy.
Lamb Angus fillet (or smth like that, forgot the name); was somehow good but a lil bit dry, extra sauce and it will be perfect.
Ramesco Prawn with rice: verrryyy delicious and the shrimp was huge (not tiny). Very heavy dish, suitable for two persons.
Hazelnut Lava Cake: delicious same as Choco Room
Pineapple & ginger smth with yoghurt ice cream: simply WOW . . . Heaven. aahhhh I want more of this dish.
playing with the lights . . . wear sunglasses coz it hurts the eyes
isn’t this cute? containing toothpicks

Pack a Bag Campaign
Quoted from Noon :
“dear bloggers and silent readers, its time to pack your bags, but this time its not for you, your not going anywhere but your bag is.
“pack a bag” campaign is a campaign with no rules, its not based on an organization nor a group, you don’t have to stick with a certain organization, all you have to do is pack an old bag that you don’t need anymore and pack it with clothes, shoes, accessories, toys and whatever you think is suitable for donating and send it to whoever you think needs it the most. your maid, tea boy, cleaning lady at work, poor people around you like a neighbour maybe, you can send them to africa or refugee camps.
it doesn’t matter who you are, where you are, which country your from, there’s no rules or restrictions to this campaign, so whoever you think needs it the most, just donate it.
this campaign starts from kuwait and hopefully will reach the rest of the world, so im calling all bloggers, readers and “charity enthusiasts” to help me spread the word
if you are in kuwait i can provide you with families in need that you can easily reach, just make sure you contact me on my email
ps: please make sure that the clothes and everything else you donate are clean and well folded, preferably not torn.”

The Burger Hub Experience
I know I know, I’m the last one on earth to try The Burger Hub but it wouldn’t hurt to write about my experience
The atmosphere was kinda dark, I almost fell asleep *yawn* but the decoration is lovely. The seatings weren’t comfortable at all, my back was hurting me all the time, and I felt I was not that close to the table and it wasn’t adjustable! The restaurant was very humid, the AC wasn’t working very well, and I was going to faint, not to mention I was fasting at that time. Their menu lacked photos. I believe each restaurant must include photos of some of the dishes in their menu. The food was good & I really enjoyed the Wazo fries.
No photos
See how dark it is . . .
Buffalo Salad (yum yum)
Wazo fries . . . It reminded me of Dathra
La Rose Burger . . . Very delicious
Chili Burger . . . Wasn’t that good!
Book Review: The Help
Such an amazing book. Full of enlightenment about the old days when black people were treated like shit yet very entertaining. What can I say about the characters? Each has its own uniqueness and wittiness. This book made me so furious yet it made me laugh like crazy, special that crazy help Minny
I loved what she did to Hilly hehe
It’s about a book being written by a white woman (Skeeter) about the black maids and how they’re treated by their employers (white ladies). and how the main 3 characters (Skeeter, Aibileen, & Minny) become closer.
I’ve heard this book is gonna be a movie, and immediately I imagined Nicole Kidman as “Skeeter” but when I’ve checked, the role was done by Emma stone. Can’t wait for the movie to come out
