Why Men Don’t Hold The Car Door Open For Their Women?

Following my fellow blogger’s lead (Danderma) regarding her post about why men don’t open the door for their women,,,specially Kuwaiti MEN *ahem*, I went and asked my husband regarding this matter, here’s the conversation (in Kuwaiti):

Swera: “M” bas2alik so2al *blush*.

M: amray tedalelay se2lay elli tabeen.

Swera: *excited* lesh wala marra ba6altly bab esayara?! ma3ana enta etba6eli bab elbeit, elma7alat wel ma6a3em, shme3na esayara la2? y3ni.

M: le hadaraja elmawthoo3 mohem 3ndech?

Swera: la y3ni mo tharoori wayed bs ge9 3alay marra beshahar o efta7li bab esayara.

M: nshallah wala yhemmech ya 3mry afta7lech bab esayara.

Swera *huge smile* :D

Silence ….

M: Swera bas2elech so2al tetwaqaf 3aleh 7ayatna ezawjeya . . .

Swera *heart pounding so fast* es2al.

M: tabeeni afta7lech elbab jedam ennas wela 3adi bedon nas. y3ni hal tabeen traween ennas shofo zoji yefta7li elbab?

Swera: la 7ayaty lo tefta7ly elbab 3nd elgarag ma3ndi mashakel :D

M: ok

Yesterday when we went out, while we were heading to the car in the garage i deliberately walked faster to be infront of him, seconds i saw sm1 running infront of me heading to the car and openning the door, it was kinda funny but the thing is he left the door open!

Swera: kamel jameelik o sakker elbaaaaaanb :P

M: walleeeeeen, mara7 n5ale9.

That was in the garage! so when we went to the cafe, finished our meal and headed back to the car, he actually waited for me to be infront of him so he can open the door for hehe :P I believe i will never see that happen again! but it was nice to have my husband opening the door for me :D

Book Review: Oprah (A Biography)

If you wanna know Oprah’s darkest secrets then you’re gonna have to read this book! Even though it wasn’t written by her and that it’s been categorized as un-authorized, somehow I feel that every single word is true and genuine! It wasn’t meant to hurt Oprah but to reveal the truth about her success and how she lived her everyday life!

Ansam’s Macaroni & Cheese

As some of you that I work til 4:30 pm and it’s somehow very exhausting to get back home & cook something decent for hubby. Sometimes he cooks which leads to a tragedy. I’ve always wondered what can I cook in less than an hour and it doesn’t cause alot of mess and that washing the dishes will be a piece of cake. Failed to find a recipe, til I read Ansam\’s post & it was the IT recipe I was looking for.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve never ever cooked anything! I didn’t know hot to boil the macaroni & i had to call aunt to teach me while making sarcastic remarks about me being a lousy housewife not knowing how to boil MACARONI *sniff*. Anyways, i called hubby to get me cheddar cheese and told him not to eat anything because I’ll be trying something new.

Got back home & found him sleeping, which was a good thing because he’d always interrupt me in the kitchen with his famous line “yalla hurry up sweetie, i’m hungry” (P.S. he’s always hungry mashallah 3aleh). I had the space for myself & I followed Ansam’s directions. It was so easy & fun to make. The macaroni & cheese tasted so gooooood that hubby ate half of the pyrex :D

Swera On Adam&Eve

I remember Miss Afrah Alhashim  contacting me on the 10th or 11th of February 2011 asking me to answer some questions for an article she’ll be writing in Adam&Eve magazine which is about Kuwaiti girls being single & some of them are being tagged as spinsters if they’re above the age of 25 and still not married!

That interview took place 3 days before meeting Mr. Right! not knowing that i’ll be meeting anyone anytime soon, i just got back from Singapore & i was enjoying my break at home. Guess you never know when THAT right man comes knocking on your door :)

Great writing skills Afrah :)

Book Review: Priceless

To be honest, I don’t know why I picked this book when I had the feeling that it will be boringly cheesy :/ n I don’t know how Nicole Richie became a writer!!!!!
The story is very very very boring, nothing new or creative in its plot or climax. Characters are shallow and meaningless. Very predictable, as I said nothing new in the story!
I don’t recommend this book at all though it will be a good read for teenagers between the age of 14 n 18!
My advice to Nicole; please spend your time in smth good which is spending ur daddy’s money or husband or whoever, just don’t write novels n let us spend our money on such books out of curiosity

Swera Is A Scuba Diver

Finally, I have received my Scuba Diving License :D Remember Tioman Island ? The reason we went there is because hubby wanted me to learn how to dive & get the license so I can dive with him later on . . . Cool ha?! NOT TRUE! Wait til you read about the horror I’ve experienced :/

Before getting married, we were getting acquainted over the phone & deciding where should we go for our honeymoon & what to do there! He told me that he wants me to learn how to dive & get the license as I said so that we can dive everywhere whenever we want to! His idea of traveling & relaxing is DIVING! I was so happy & excited, yay new experience & all, stupid me :P

P.S. Husband has Advanced Open Water License, he can dive up to 40 mtrs & he did! Can’t believe how he did it :/

We reached Tioman Island, went to Swiss Cottage Village & looked for Tioman Diving Centre, he wanted ladies to teach me, lucky me all of them were sweet British ladies! my instructor was 25 yrs old & she’s a dive master (Rosie I miss you) She’s amazing & so friendly :)

There were 2 Dutch couples with me! They were very sweet & kind! Kristel & Mike! Kristel was good in comprehending everything & practicing it under water but Mark was OMG! he kicked me under water so many times! Til Rosie told him to focus & swim with his partner, away from me :P

The kit is really very VERY heavy! When I was moving the cylinder & weight belt, i looked like an old lady, walking with her back bended to the front! Storm was coming that day so the sea was a lil bit mad! Getting in the water is easy but hey wait til you start wearing your fins (i hate that part)! & start swimming on your back using your fins (so difficult wallah)!

I start deflating my BC & then the horror starts . . . even though the regulator was in my mouth, i was breathing & my BC is on me, i thought i was gonna suffocate & die! As i was descending to the bottom of the sea, i was thinking “I’m getting out of this water & I’m gonna tell him i dont want to continue this course, that’s it! I just don’t want to”! Rosie & Rhon (American Diver-Helping in the course) made us relaxed & comfortable under water, which took around 20 minutes I guess :P Then everything started to look beautiful & amazing :D

My 1st open water dive was 10.7 mtrs in Ringgis Island! It was a boat dive which I had to throw myself in the water from boat! I made a scene in the boat, told them I wont do it,I’m not throwing myself from the back not knowing what’s down there! Rosie explained that I’ll be floating coz I have my BC on LOL (stupid me)! I finally did it & it was a piece of cake! When we started descending, It was mind blowing, I didnt want to go up! I saw so many kinds of fish & corals! It was like another world! I’m so happy that I continued this course & got the license, because there’s nothing like the life under water! So many cute little nemos were there . . .

My 2nd Open Water Dive, was 6 mtrs because a storm was going to hit again so we didn’t want to go far! In this dive i saw the scariest fish of all time, it was called Buffer Fish! I was going to faint because it came straight to my face! Thank god Rosie & Rhon were there hehe, it turned out to be a friendly fish & not harmful at all, but she’s so damn ugly!

Anyways, the whole experience was magnificent! I enjoyed to the max! It’s some how an achievement, & can’t wait til I go diving again! which will be soon nshallah! If you’re thinking about it getting the license, go get it! Just the 1st part will be scary but then it will be so beautiful & fun :D

My Apple Toys

Today, I was so lucky to get both iPad 2 32G Wifi & iPhone 4 16G :D I’m so happy! Hubby was able to get me a good deal on the iPad which I got for KD193/- Only & got the iPhone 4 from Zain’s latest offers, you subscribe with Wiyana for KD29/- per month for 2 yrs & you get free internet & free iPhone 4, damn :) The thing is i usually pay KD30 for my calls so this deal was a good catch!

I love apple products but I’m not obsessed as (some people) LOL so I didn’t care about the iPhone 4 but as for the iPad2, I so wanted to get it but thought the prices were so high til yesterday when i got the best offer in the market! not to mention that i got so excited & hyper when i saw Jacqui‘s Gleaskins on her blog & when I knew that Noon also got her ipad, i just couldn’t help myself but get it :D
